Top 5 things to remember when moving abroad

Here at Roy Trevor we know a thing or two about international removals.  So, if you are planning on moving abroad you will find that there are many things you need to remember.   During our many removals to Spain, Portugal and other sunny destinations we have learnt a thing or two.

Here are our top 5 things to remember when moving abroad:

Unlike other domestic moves, when moving abroad you need to remember your passport.  Not only do you need to bring your passport with you, you will also need to check to see if it is in date.  If you require visas then ensure that you leave plenty of time to get these issued.

If your pets are moving abroad with you then you will need to make sure that they have the relevant injections and that you comply with the laws relating to this.  This will depend on the country you are moving to.  The Direct Gov website can help you with this.

Moving abroad requires careful thought and planning when it comes to transport.  You may decided to fly and leave all of the transportation to your international removal company.  Alternatively you may wish to drive with some of your belongings with you. Whatever way you decide to travel make sure you plan ahead and leave plenty of time so you don’t rush.

Health cover

When moving abroad you need to look into health insurance.  Every country will have a different policy.  Whether you are moving to Spain, France or somewhere even further afield, make sure that you take out the correct level of cover.
